More mens are taking plastic surgery in the past few years, but the women still outnumber the mens plastic surgery patients. Both the procedures and the motivations between mens and womens are different in taking plastic surgery.
The main reasons why men and women get plastic surgery is to look physically better, but sometime you have to look deeper on the reason why they undergo plastic surgery to really understand what their true motivations are. The feeling of wanting to change the physical appearances are just a mirror of their concerns in life that are unspoken. In most cases many people oppose their love ones to get a plastic surgery, for example a wife wants to get her nose done, I hear about this so many times, “my husband says I look fine the way I am” or “my friends say I look fine”. But in reality, a lot of women will take the surgery anyway. Because their decision making is not affected by external reasons. Unlike mens, they do plastic surgery because the goals or things the want to get, such as sex, women, money, etc. There’s a phrase that “Men are from Venus, Women are from Mars” basically what it means is that men most of the time do things because or for someone else (external reasons) and on the other hand Women do things for themselves (internal reasons).
Male plastic surgery patient is also different from female plastic surgery patient in different ways. Mens usually don’t like to undergo extreme procedures that result in a drastic change of appearance, they also have less pain tolerance, that followed by postoperative instructions less carefully. They hate to have a long recovery period, and usually are more vocal about the outcome of the surgery. Much of this are related with men that are generally inpatient and want to get to the final result immediately. So under those reasons, the smaller the procedures for men are ofter better, even at the end the result is not as significant.
They way the plastic surgeon handle between their man patients verses to their women patients are different as well. Because some plastic surgeons don’t like to work with men. Men are often require more time to handle and patience than most of the women patients. Furthermore on the end result of the surgery, mens are usually more demanding and most likely require more attention than women. Men are harder to be fulfill on getting the mutual satisfactory of the end result of the plastic surgery.
