Mens Plastic Surgery Tips

More mens are taking plastic surgery in the past few years, but the women still outnumber the mens plastic surgery patients. Both the procedures and the motivations between mens and womens are different in taking plastic surgery.

The main reasons why men and women get plastic surgery is to look physically better, but sometime you have to look deeper on the reason why they undergo plastic surgery to really understand what their true motivations are. The feeling of wanting to change the physical appearances are just a mirror of their concerns in life that are unspoken. Generally the reason why most women doing plastic surgery is the true self-image issues. The simples way to look better and feel better about themselves. As a general statement, most women’s motivations for plastic surgery are true self-image issues. They want to fell better about themselves, by correcting their physical problems. Any kind of plastic surgery starting from tummy tuck to look better on swimsuits or get their eyes or nose done to look younger and refreshed, the main point of plastic surgery for women is about improving themselves and not particularly for others.

In most cases many people oppose their love ones to get a plastic surgery, for example a wife wants to get her nose done, I hear about this so many times, “my husband says I look fine the way I am” or “my friends say I look fine”. But in reality, a lot of women will take the surgery anyway. Because their decision making is not affected by external reasons. Unlike mens, they do plastic surgery because the goals or things the want to get, such as sex, women, money, etc. There’s a phrase that “Men are from Venus, Women are from Mars” basically what it means is that men most of the time do things because or for someone else (external reasons) and on the other hand Women do things for themselves (internal reasons).

Male plastic surgery patient is also different from female plastic surgery patient in different ways. Mens usually don’t like to undergo extreme procedures that result in a drastic change of appearance, they also have less pain tolerance, that followed by postoperative instructions less carefully. They hate to have a long recovery period, and usually are more vocal about the outcome of the surgery. Much of this are related with men that are generally inpatient and want to get to the final result immediately. So under those reasons, the smaller the procedures for men are ofter better, even at the end the result is not as significant.

They way the plastic surgeon handle between their man patients verses to their women patients are different as well. Because some plastic surgeons don’t like to work with men. Men are often require more time to handle and patience than most of the women patients. Furthermore on the end result of the surgery, mens are usually more demanding and most likely require more attention than women. Men are harder to be fulfill on getting the mutual satisfactory of the end result of the plastic surgery.

Mens Plastic Surgery Types

Appearance is very important these days. As a result, many have started to consider plastic surgery to improve both their appearance and self-confidence. These days there are may enhanced technology and surgical techniques that could heal in shorter time than in the past; men can change they way they look with a minimum of downtime and inconvenience. Currently some of the most popular types of mens plastic surgery are liposuction, gynecomastia (breast reduction) correction and .rhinoplasty (nose surgery).

Liposuction

Liposuction in the context of male plastic surgery that focuses on removing extra areas of fat at the waist, commonly known as “love handles.” Most men experience fat accumulated in this area of the body, usually as they grow older. Liposuction is a great choice for men who like to have a trimmer waistline, but lazy to achieve it through diet and exercise.

As with liposuction in other areas of the body, the removal of love handles begins with tiny incisions made in the area around which the fat will be removed. Then fluid that contains numbing agents and other medication is introduced into the area. Using liposuction cannulas, which are small hollow tubes to remove both the liquid and accompanying fat through the same incisions. When the procedure is complete, dressings will be placed over the incisions. You may experience some soreness and swelling for about two weeks.

Gynecomastia

Gynecomastia, or the condition of breast development in a man, estimated to affect about 60 percent of American men. Although it does not pose any particular health risks, many men with gynecomastia like to have the excess skin and tissue removed for aesthetic reasons. The male breast tissue can be attributable to several causes, such as weight gain, usage of certain drugs, and disease of the liver. This method results in very little noticeable scarring. If your case is more extensive, it may need to make a larger incision; however, most patients find that the benefits of the surgery outweigh the chances of being left with a visible scar.

After the surgery, you may need to wear a compression garment for several weeks following your surgery. Swelling and mild discomfort are common following gynecomastia treatment, but will subside with time. Most men are able to return to work within a few days of undergoing the procedure, provided that they do not perform any heavy lifting.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is basically a surgery for the nose, or commonly known as nose job. The main key of this surgery is reshape the nose bone to the wanted shape. It is very important for you to be honest with your surgeon about your desired outcome and expectations because rhinoplasty requires artistry as well as medical expertise.

Most rhinoplasty procedures take about two hours. Depends on the type of the procedure, either local or general anesthesia will be used. During the surgery, the surgeon will separate the skin on the nose from the underlying tissue; then reshape the bone and cartilage into the desired shape. Incisions are usually made in non appearable locations, such as between the nostrils or inside the nose. After the surgery is complete, a splint and bandage will be applied, and you will be able to go home.

For the first couple of days, you will probably experience a dull, aching sensation, it is normal and can be controlled with pain medication that will be prescribed to you. Swelling and bruising will also occur, most of which will subside within two weeks. You may experience random swelling for two months after the surgery, but it is generally very difficult to notice.
